Dreams Come True Vs Good Enough

Before you settle for close enough, remember your dream.

You aren’t a designer, but you know what you love.  You know the pictures that inspire you, and the look you are going for.  You know your dream.

You don’t know how to get it done.

It’s tricky.  Your kitchen or your bathroom vision exists in your head and you try to find it.   You end up getting close.

Be very careful here.  Each time you try to get close, you end up farther away.  You do have a choice, and one choice is to settle for close enough. The other is not giving up.

We hope that you won’t give up.

Here are three ways you can ensure you get what you dream, without settling for second best:

  1. Find a craftsman.  A custom furniture craftsman will ask the right questions to help you bring your vision to life.  When you talk directly to the builder, you’ll build a mutual understanding before the first piece of wood is cut.  If you are reading this, then you’ve found Whatman Hardwoods in Ohio.  Contact Tim Whatman and ask him if he can help, or point you in the right direction.
  2. Add story.  You may not realize it, but you are trying to tell a story. Trust us, it is there! That story can tell a lot about you. Barnwood furniture has lived a life of its own, and each piece has a story to tell.  Sometimes, a custom craftsman can tell you a story about the wood he selects for you.
  3. Expand your vision.  Do you want a vanity, or do you want a lifestyle?  The barnwood furniture you choose should inspire the entire room, not just that one piece.  Consider sliding barn doors, bedroom furniture, walls and beams, made from your wood selection, to bring it all together.

These three tips are what you may not have considered, and they can make all of the difference between your dream coming true, and “close enough”.
